AhlulBayt News Agency: Iran has executed Esmaeil Fekri, who was convicted of collaborating with Israel’s Mossad spy agency and attempting to share classified intelligence with the Tel Aviv regime in exchange for money.
The execution took place on Monday morning after the Supreme Court upheld the death sentence.
According to a statement from the Judiciary’s public relations office, Fekri was in close contact with Mossad operatives and was captured in December 2023 during a complex intelligence operation carried out by Iranian security agencies.
Judicial records indicate that Fekri had established communication with two Mossad officers and attempted to collect and relay highly sensitive national security information, including strategic site locations, details of specific individuals, and internal organizational missions, via secure channels.
Fekri began collaborating with Mossad after being recruited and vetted by a senior officer. He was later assigned to work under another officer, referred to as "Amir," who instructed him to create an encrypted communication platform for intelligence sharing.
In July 2022, Amir directed Fekri to establish a cryptocurrency wallet on his mobile phone to facilitate payments for operational support.
Despite his covert activities, Iranian intelligence agencies successfully monitored Fekri’s communications and uncovered an extensive espionage network linked to Israel.
He was placed under surveillance and ultimately apprehended during a targeted security operation.
Following his arrest, security personnel conducted a forensic examination of Fekri’s electronic devices, uncovering detailed exchanges and instructions from Mossad agents, including directives to collect and transmit intelligence.
After extensive legal proceedings, including multiple court sessions attended by both the defendant and his attorney, Fekri was found guilty based on documentary evidence, forensic results, his own confessions, and proof of payments received from Mossad.
He was charged under Article 6 of the “Law on Confronting Hostile Actions of the Zionist Regime Against Peace and Security” and sentenced to death.
The Supreme Court later reviewed and upheld the initial ruling. Following the completion of all legal procedures, Fekri’s sentence was carried out in accordance with the court’s final verdict.
Over the past few days, Iranian officials have arrested several individuals suspected of spying for Mossad, following recent Israeli attacks against Iran.
Among those martyred in Israeli strikes were Major General Mohammad Baqeri, IRGC Chief Commander Hossein Salami, General Gholam Ali Rashid, and six nuclear scientists, including Mohammad Mehdi Tehranchi and Fereydoon Abbasi.
Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei warned that Israel would face severe punishment for its actions, stating, “With this crime, the Zionist regime has prepared for itself a bitter, painful fate, which it will definitely see”.
